Meagan :
Hi!
I’m a 23 year old female from upstate NY
A friend and I are planning on moving to either San Antonio or Austin in the fall. I don’t think I could handle a Texas summer quite yet! lol
I just don’t know which to pick. I lived in LA for 6 months after graduating from college, but I could not take all of the “actors” and it’s all about who you know – not to MENTION the traffic.
Anyway, just wondering what the positives/negatives are for each city? I’ve only ever driven through Texas, so I don’t really know much about it. I’ll obviously visit there before I move there, but here’s a little about me to see if I’ll fit in down south:
I’m very spontaneous, fun, friendly, love to go out for drinks, meet new people (cute guys especially
and outdoorsy things (fishing, boating, 4wheeling, etc)
My ideal situation is just to fish, ride horses, go 4 wheeling, drink, and have tons of fun with a bunch of young people
For work I’ll probably bartend
so tell me where to go!!

I’ve read articles where it states Austin Tx is a great place to relocate to. It is “THE” place to relocate for young people. Check out their city’s website! Good Luck!
I live in San Antonio and love it, but both cities have their good points.
Traffic is better is SA and housing is cheaper. Austin is better known as a party town because of UT. You can probably make more money in Austin. My 25 year old son likes Austin better. He says they have better places to eat and more things to do for people his age.
You can’t go wrong with either place. Most Texans are friendly people who will answer your questions and help you out when you need it.
Good Day,
Austin would be your kind of town.. your age group and lots to offer..You didn’t mention Music, they got a tunes everywhere, free concerts in Zunker Park- great fun in the summer. There is water and rivers everywhere, if fun is floating and partying, you will find it in Austin.. Traffic kinda sucks, just learn the routes and times. San Antonio is Much larger and great place to live also.
My bit is Austin will do you right…good luck
In between San Antonio and Austin is a great smaller city named San Marcos. It is the home of Texas State University, formerly known as Southwest Texas State. It is known for its young attitude and is much more laid back than Austin in that Austin has traffic like Los Angeles(sp?). 25 years ago Austin was what San Marcos is now. And did I mention San Marcos Is right in between Austin and San Antonio with all the bennies of both without the hassles. Goodluck and welcome to Texas, a whole other country!
I love Austin and have lived there a long time. San Antonio is great as well. Luckily SA is only an hour from Austin, so visiting either city is not a far drive. Austin has 6th street with lots of bars and clubs. You can make lots of money in Austin! I have never lived in SA, but I love to visit there. Austin is probably more expensive, but to me it’s worht it. They both have a lot of good qualities about them. Welcome to Texas! I’m sure you will love it wherever you live!
i’ve got to say austin, tx there are plenty of new developmental communities in the area
